Description
Fossil crinoid, aka "sea lily," Jimbacrinus bostocki, of Permian age, from the Cundiego Formation, Gascoyne Junction, Western Australia. The spiny "head-like" cup or calyx of these specimens is approximately 3 cm in diameter. This species was used for reference by the creators of the creatures in the science fiction film "THE MATRIX."
