Lew Gay Fung (Jennie Law) was born in Oakland, California, and has lived both here and in China as a U.S. citizen. In 1922, her parents took the family to be educated in China. Jennie stayed there until 1947 when she returned to the U.S., bringing in her half-nephew as her son.
